Happy New Year!
Magical Murals is looking forward to 2012 and all the nurseries that will need transforming!
An easy way to personalise a room is with a unique name sign….
Inspired by Klimt…
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved the work of Gustav Klimt (1862-1918)
His most familiar work ‘The Kiss’ 1908, from his Golden Period, is just one of many works showing what a great innovator he was…
His ability to cloak a portrait or landscape in a rich kaleidoscope of colour and interwoven patterns of gold & silver, mosaics, ornamental motifs, mythical birds, flowers or swirls is unmistakable. I am constantly drawn back to his work, again and again. I find it mesmerizing.
My recent Tree canvas was commissioned from specific photos but inspired none the less by ‘Birch Wood’. Not so much in composition but paint application.
A more conscious nod to his work and a little more fun was the Magic Tree Mural.
In true Klimt style gold leaf was added and some Swarovski crystals were also added to embellish the fruits on the tree.
Underwater Adventure from Magical Murals…
Magical Murals does not just specialise in nursery murals, it can bring to life any room or wall in your home.
Look how this hand painted bath panel, with favourite characters from Nemo and Rubbadubbers, has transformed this bathroom into a magical underwater world.
Two coats of specialist varnish make it completely splash proof!

Pronunciation: /ɪˌmadʒɪˈneɪʃ(ə)n/
A creation of the mind; especially: an idealized or poetic creation.
I like to think I can create a fantasy environment that helps build children’s imaginations. From sweeping scenes to little painted elements here and there, whatever your child can dream, I work to bring to life.
Recent Jungle Book Mural
I want to share my most recent mural with you; It is the ever popular Disney’s Jungle Book.
I have included photographs of the original sketch and of the mural at various stages of completion.
This is to give you an insight into the creative process of a Magical Murals hand painted mural.
